The Texas Quarterly Housing Report reflects also what is going on in the other 47 state's markets as well as Texas. The latest report indicates that volume is down compared to last year during the tax incentive, but actually in Texas, we have held steady.
The report actually reflects a modest (1% median) increase from 2009 to 2010 in Texas. Do not listen to everything you hear in the media. They are talking about volume. "Sales are down" is their scream. Yes, the number of homes sold is down but not necessarily the price. But the headlines make you think the Real Estate Market is "going to pot." It is not.
Speak to a professional consultant and find out what is really happening in the marketplace.
