Statistics From NAR Survey of Buyers and Sellers in 2010

This survey is national but there are some interesting facts that are revealed that apply to us locally:

• 50% of the buyers in 2010 were first time buyers!

• 93% of those buyers used the tax credit to get the money back for buying a home! That means that after end of Tax Credit in July, 2010, only a few first time buyers even bought!! So the conclusion is the Tax Credit worked in helping the market, it would seem to me!

• 38% of the buyers indicated they found their new home with a Realtor. 37% said they found it on the Internet. Wouldn't surprise me. We are very strong in getting our listings out there on all kinds of sites for buyers to find us with pictures, virtual tours, links, videos, etc. More buyers are using the internet but perhaps some of these figures come from the fact that Realtors put their Buyers on a search program where new listings come up in their mailboxes which they can then say, they found their house on the internet.

• Buyers did rate photos, detailed information and virtual tours as the most useful web site features and we are sure to include plenty of such with our listings.

• 87% of the buyers said they definitely or probably would use their agent again but past history shows that only 17% of repeat buyers actually do! Now, why is that? Because the agent forgets about them and never contacts them again. Once you are one of our clients, you are a Client For Life! We love having you in our Real Estate Family.

We can share the whole survey with you if you would like to send us your email address. Thanks.
