Did You Know?

From the latest 2010 Survey of Sellers by NAR (National Association of Realtors), these are their findings: (These are National findings but some follow true with our local market as well.)
  • Half of the homes in 2010 sold in 8 weeks (56 days) average. I had an average of 39 days on the market in 2010.
  • The Sellers received 96% of their list price. (Same or higher in most of our cities in far North Dallas.) 43% got this price without a reduction and 27% reduced their price one time before selling.

  • 56% of the sellers provided no Seller incentive. 25% of sellers did provide the home warranty. (Most sellers here in this area offer a Home Warranty and with FHA, sellers paid closing costs for buyer so this one might not be so true here.)

  • The average number of houses that the buyers look at was 12 in 2010 while it was lower at 7 houses before purchasing in 2009. (If you are working with a good Realtor that listens, that should always be true!)

  • What did the sellers want from their Realtors? 23% wanted help in pricing their house right and 21% wanted the agent to help them find a buyer. (Yes, yes!)
  • How did the Buyers find their house? 38% of the buyers found it through the Realtor but really not surprising, 37% buyers said they found their house on the Internet!
