What’s The “Germ-iest” Place In Your Home?

Guess which one is worse? Microwave, Shower, Kitchen faucets, Light switches, TV Remotes, Baby changing table?

All of the above!

1. When dealing with raw foods, we touch the kitchen faucet to turn on and off. When do we ever clean and santisize the handle….and I have that one handle faucet that I touch a lot? The sponge in the sink or clothes probably is the number one culprit!

2. The light switch in the bathroom has some of the worse bacteria, maybe more than the trash bin!

3. And that TV remote! Wow, you snack, clean your nails, pick your nose and flip through the channels, leaving all kinds of bacteria on that remote!

4. And even the tub and shower should be disinfected twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells left in the tub that can carry germs as well.

5. Even that Baby’s changing table should be cleaned often for obvious reasons.

With this H1N1 flu continuing to spread over the globe, wash your hands is still a very worthy step to get in the habit of doing, and of doing it often!

These reports are from The Hygiene Council made up of global experts in the field of public health and infectious diseases.
