Market Update

Although the national news is still warning about falling prices in the Real Estate market across the country, especially with ne homes, the locat market in the Collin County area is still just very flat! We only had 3 cities in this area that had a slight increase in the number of sales for the month of March 2007 compared to March 2006. Those cities are Frisco (with one more sale), Garland (with seventeen), and McKinney (with ten). None of the cities have closed more sales than 2006 so far this year. That is not good since 2006 was not a "banner" year!

The average price per square foot and the average sales price are both about the same or even higher than the previous year. Just the number of sales seem to be dragging behind 2006 some, but we should catch up as we are on the upward swing. Interest rates are still good to make that move to another home profitable as well.

Just remember, if you have to sell your existing home for a price a little less than you would like, you can certainly purchase your next home and dream home a little less than you would think! It usually balances out.
